Sunscreen is one of the biggest offenders where toxicity is concerned. Conventional brands are rife with so many toxic chemicals that you almost wonder if you'd be better off without it. Many brands have been linked to skin cancer and it is so important, now more than ever, to read those labels and to know what's in the products you put on you and your family. Traditional brands use chemicals that absorb the sun. This zinc oxide formula reflects the harmful rays keeping you and your family safe and healthy. I use an organic NON-NANO Zinc oxide to take this up to an SPF 45+. It is so important that the zinc is non-nano because nanoparticles are smaller than your pores and the zinc will get into your bloodstream, you don't want that and we take special care to make sure that we always provide the best and most effective ingredients. This sunscreen smells delightful and is completely amazing for your skin, not a paraben to be found. It will not turn you white. It absorbs very nicely into your skin. I've used organic Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Coconut Oil as a base which each has a natural SPF of 10-15. I've added non-nano organic zinc oxide powder (won't get into your pores or bloodstream) for a natural SPF protection of around 45+. It is said that anything over 25 is questionable anyway. I've personally tested this blend in 104-degree weather with no shade. It lasted about 3 hours and then I reapplied-all while being in the pool! Not a sunburn to be seen on me, my husband, my kids or my friends! Yay!!!! And it smells AMAZING! After application, you can take a dip as this blend repels water too. You will have to reapply after several dips in the pool when the water no longer beads off of your skin. This blend is absolutely coral reef safe <3
